Cookie policy
This policy explains the small number of cookies and browser-storage items SpotWise uses, what each one does, and the choice you have over them. SpotWise is a trading name of Life Pass Ltd (company number 17242126), registered at International House, 101 King's Cross Road, London, WC1X 9LP, United Kingdom.
The short version
We set no advertising cookies and use no ad trackers. The only cookies required for the site to work are strictly necessary ones — signing you in and keeping your session secure. Optional product analytics only run if you press "Accept optional cookies" on the banner.
Strictly necessary cookies
These keep you signed in and protect your account. The site cannot function without them, so they are always on and do not require consent.
- Sign-in session — keeps you logged in between pages and visits. Set by our authentication provider; expires when you sign out or after a period of inactivity.
- Security challenge (multi-factor sign-in) — if you turn on emailed one-time codes, a short-lived record remembers that this browser passed the check, for up to 30 days on a device you mark as trusted.
- Cookie choice — remembers whether you accepted or declined optional cookies, so we don't keep asking. Stored in your browser for 12 months.
Optional cookies and storage
With your consent we use aggregate, privacy-friendly product analytics to understand which features parents find useful and where the site is slow or confusing. These are only enabled if you accept on the cookie banner. They are never used for advertising and are never shared with ad networks.
What we never use
- Advertising cookies or pixels (Google, Facebook/Meta or otherwise).
- Cross-site tracking of any kind.
- Selling or sharing cookie-derived data with third parties.
Changing your choice
You can change your mind at any time. Clearing your browser's site data for spotwise.co.uk removes the stored choice and the banner will reappear on your next visit, where you can choose again. Declining optional cookies does not affect any feature of the service.
